Hosted Video Services (Centrex)

Provide Customers with a Managed Visual Communications Network

Broadband providers and service bureaus, such as Glowpoint, Intercall and Allstream are leveraging broadband IP to deliver high-margin managed video telephony services to their customers. This Central Office Exchange Service (CENTREX) is a centralized hosted service that is utilized by both business customers as well as residential consumers.

Managed/Hosted video telephony enables operators to generate high-margin return on their massive investments in broadband infrastructure. Video telephony offers a higher margin than voice and data services, and is a service that increases customer loyalty.

Subscribers benefit from hosted solutions that can significantly reduce capital and operating expenditures (CAPEX and OPEX) and enjoy the added value of the operator’s network providing the needed capacity, security and resiliency.
For a small monthly payment (or per usage fees) operators can host the customer’s video needs – from connecting to ISDN, PSTN and 3G-324M endpoints, as well as scheduling and resource/network management.

With video telephony, videoconferencing, and data sharing platforms at the center of the broadband provider’s network, any variety of video endpoints can be deployed at the end of a broadband access line (cable, DSL, T1, or Fiber Optic) and remotely administered by operators as a managed service. And as next-generation IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) networks become available, the need for IMS-ready infrastructure is vital.

Within the core network of carriers, RADVISION supplies both network infrastructure equipment and application solutions for a successful hosted visual communications deployment.
