ProLab SIP Testing - RADVISION

The ProLab Testing Suite encompasses a wide range of testing tools for several environments and includes the following add-ons:

Terminal Simulation

Performs advanced simulation by generating signaling and media. By generating calls, the ProLab Testing Suite performs a variety of tests, including protocol and stress tests.

IMS Server Simulation

Can act as an IMS Server in order to simulate different network topologies and to simulate different entities on a VoIP network. Servers that can be simulated include: P-CSCF, I-CSCF and S-CSCF.

Analysis & Report

The ProLab Test Results Analysis Solution offers an intuitive tool to automate testing and results analysis and flexible report generation that can be customized to specific requirements.

Voice Quality

ProLab is equipped with both MOS and PESQ (Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality) voice quality tools.

Video Quality

The Video Quality measurement uses different video metrics. It intrusively analyzes received video streams and perceptually scores relevant degradations on a 5-point MOS scale. Additional key performance indicators (KPIs) are output to allow experts to make a more detailed analysis. The video Quality add-on support reference

The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is the dominant industry signaling protocol used for real-time communication applications such as voice over IP (VoIP) and Instant Messaging (IM). Based on ubiquitous and accepted Internet protocols such as SMTP and HTTP, SIP is text encoded and well suited for the Internet and other IP environments. SIP provides the mechanisms to implement a broad range of features, including call control services, next-generation service creation, interoperability with existing telephony systems, and mobility.

  • RFC 3262 (Reliability of Provisional Responses in SIP)
  • RFC 3265 (SIP Specific Event Notification)
  • RFC 2327 (SDP)
  • RFC 2617 (HTTP Digest Scheme Authentication)
  • RFC 3515 (REFER)
  • RFC 3372 (SIP-T)
  • RFC 2833 (DTMF signaling above RTP packets)
