PROLAB RCS/VoLTE Testing Suite is a highly scalable and feature-rich testing and validation solution, emulating a wide range of real-world network conditions for real-time testing of voice and video over LTE devices. Its purpose is to provide and maintain the expected Quality of Service (QoS) with regard to key factors including signaling, security, media and network topology. Since the success of VoLTE devices and services depends on service-readiness as well as the ability of the network to support a wide range of services, PROLAB takes a proactive approach to ensure VoLTE readiness prior to the complete deployment of any VOLTE and RCS. PROLAB plays a critical and vital role in the product development cycle and deployment readiness. It allows you to perform the rigorous testing and validation needed to ensure a high quality.

For LTE chipset and handset vendors it is important to have a feature testing system for IMS UE applications and IMS servers capable of simulating signaling and media, including end user experience and call features testing. For this segment it is of crucial importance to be able to quickly and reliably pinpoint and resolve quality-related problems as they occur.
For IMS Core vendors it is important to perform capacity testing, which typically refers to performance metrics and the simulation of thousands of handsets.
For service providers it is important to perform interoperability and end user experience testing, audio metrics, and the simulation of thousands of handsets. Providing a high level of quality can present a considerable challenge. It is essential to ensure VoLTE service readiness.
PROLAB VoLTE/RCS provides a complete VoLTE/RCS testing solution that includes IMS Core, XCAP Server, IMS UE, network impairment and media quality testing as well as media analysis. It offers audio and video quality measurement and video telephony testing, including motion level and codec testing, along with IMS/LTE test cases employing various scenarios to emulate the network’s UE and IMS Core, QoS, and interoperability. PROLAB comes with built-in scripts, including scripts for interoperability test cases developed by the IMTC IMS Activity Group. (This group was designated by the GSM Association, owner of the GSMA PRD IR.92 VoLTE specification, as the leading testing group in this field. Covered areas include LTE voice call establishment and supplementary services, media testing, network impairment and more.

UE VoLTE Simulation. PROLAB IMS/VoLTE comes pre-packaged with an abundance of plug-and-play scripts and media files. This rich collection of ready- to-use test cases represents a wealth of expertise and know-how for performing comprehensive and exhaustive scenarios. The built- in scripts perform a wide variety of test case simulations, including SIP, IMS, RTP, Audio and Video testing. The built-in media scenarios simulate media from various vendors in various formats, as well as different a variety of codecs including as AMR-WB, AMR-NB, H.264 and MPEG4. PROLAB IMS/VoLTE comes with an advanced script language for developing complex and special case test scenarios capable of interacting with sophisticated IMS network topologies. Advanced scripting provides a vast range of testing capabilities, including authentication (AKA-MD5, AKA-V2, Digest), Security (SigComp, TLS, IPSec), IPv4, IPv6 Call Features, GSMA test cases such as IR.92, IR.94.. Audio and Video Test Cases based on AMR-WB, AMR-NB, H.263, H.264 and more. The PROLAB Media Analyzer enables advanced analysis of audio and video for both incoming and outgoing media streams, including frame distribution, frame loss, and bandwidth.. PROLAB’s Network Impairment Simulation emulates multiple errors, such as packet loss, duplicate packets, packet ordering, random delay, Jitter, SSRC Corrupted, etc. that enables you to test the adaptive jitter buffer. IMS Core Emulation The PROLAB IMS Core emulation and testing solution implements the logic and functionality of the Call Session Control Function Registrar, Proxy and Security, while using a powerful tool to configure the behavior of the various IMS policies. The PROLAB IMS Core add-on implements the Call Session Control Function (CSCF) Servers and Home Subscriber Servers (HSS). The PROLAB IMS Server solution uses the IMS Proxy Agent as its CSCF and HSS, while using its powerful capabilities to configure the behavior of the various CSCFs (P-CSCF, S-CSCF,I-CSCF) . Emergency Service: IMS Server Emergency module provides tools for testing UE's in the Emergency Call scenarios specified by 3GPP TS 24.229 RCS Add-on The ProLab XCAP Server implements the Abstract as it is defined in RFC 4825 by enabling users to store XML documents at one central location that is globally accessible through the HTTP/1.1 protocol and secured by the IMS Core Network (IMS CN). These documents can be created or modified using the HTTP PUT request, retrieved using the HTTP GET request and deleted using the HTTP DELETE request ProLab XCAP Server supports Supplementary Services which is defined in the 3GPP Technical Specification TS 24.623. Supplementary service supported: OIP - Originating Identification Presentation OIR - Originating Identification Restriction TIP - Terminating Identification Presentation TIR - Terminating Identification Restriction CBI - Incoming Communication Barring CBO - Outgoing Communication Barring CB - ACR - (Anonymous Communication Reject) Communication Barring, Call Waiting CDIV – CFU, CFB, CFNRc, CFNR Automation and PROLAB Integration with Other Testing Platforms (RF Simulator). The PROLAB Testing Suite supports automated testing, which allows remote third-party control of the PROLAB Testing Suite by using an open interface that is fully automated and requires no user intervention.
Expected Result Analysis The Expected Result Analyzer add-on module enables you to analyze test results by comparing actual behavior with predefined expected behavior. ProLab analyzes each individual result in the flow and automatically assigns it a Passed or Failed status.
Audio and Video Quality Measurement The Audio & Video Quality measurement tools is standard based deliver both real-time and passive offline measurement and analysis. The Media Quality solutions encompass objective and subjective assessment, using the ITU-T Standard and RADVISION’s innovative techniques that take into consideration inherent video images in addition to network parameters. The unique correlation and integrated approach to all of these factors is the best way to accurately assess video quality and deliver high QoE. In addition, an “intelligent” database of Audio & Video Quality parameters enables constant improvement, using automated solutions that require no human input. Audio & Video Quality measurement enables testing both audio quality and video quality, using no-reference and full-reference mode, as well as innovative research and unique algorithm to synchronize original and degraded Audio & Video streams. Voice Quality: Radvision provides an exclusive Audio Quality measurement tools based on Mean Opinion Score (MOS), Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality (PESQ) voice quality and POLQA voice Quality based on ITU-T P.863 standard combined with innovative audio analysis algorithms which deliver accurate, high-resolution results.
Video Quality: Radvision algorithm takes into consideration streams with different frame rates, sizes, and packet sizes, streams with additional logos or titles, and so on. Additional key performance indicators (KPIs), such as SNR, PSNR and blockiness, are output to allow experts to make a more detailed analysis by frame. RADVISION also provides a detailed cause analysis as a means for improving audio and video quality, since the overall quality of the audio video stream is determined by the compression quality and the transmission quality.

Audio delay measurement provides the delay between each audio Signal in the reference and the degraded signal. This algorithm is a 95% accurate. It deals with all types of audio: Music, Speech, Multi Speech, Noise, White Noise etc. and also detects voice. Because they are based on full reference, the analysis results are available offline after the test is completed; the application displays audio signals, each one in reference to its degraded video frame. LIP Synchronization measurement The Lip Synch algorithm analyzes the packets that were captured during the call and analyzes them. For every audio frame, it calculates the delay from its appropriate video frame. This algorithm uses additional information for the analysis process.
