Developer Solutions

Interoperability is a top priority in all of RADVISION’s products and solutions, and the company take a proactive approach to the subject on many levels. Rather than just carrying out interoperability testing after customers request it, RADVISION actively promotes and works to achieve industry-wide interoperability. From lab testing, hosting international interoperability events and affecting standardization revisions to improve interoperability – RADVISION does it all.

RADVISION takes a 5-pronged approach to interoperability:

1

Lab Testing for RADVISION Products
RADVISION products undergo extensive testing prior to being released to the market. These tests include validation against a large set of commercial products from different vendors in our test labs, carried out by RADVISION’s professional Quality Assurance team.

2 Private Testing
From time to time, RADVISION initiates interoperability testing with other vendors, and vice versa. These private testing sessions between the companies on a specific product ensure that special new features rolled out to the market are fully interoperable with RADVISION products from day one.

3 Participation in Interoperability Events
International IOT events are an integral and critical element in interoperability. These events include the IMTC’s SuperOp!, SIPit as well as others. These events provide a forum for a large number of vendors with products related to specific standards to be in the same room and carry out large-scale testing.
RADVISION places a great deal of importance on these events, including chairing work groups and holding other positions within the organizations that organize these events.

4 Standardization
To achieve interoperability, protocols are based on standards. Standards are complex, “living” documents that sometimes contain inconsistencies or ambiguities. New features may be required.
RADVISION regularly participates in standard boards’ and organizations’ meetings, and contributes knowledge in matters relating to interoperability. Since 1992, RADVISION has been active in this area, and uniquely capable of assisting customers in all areas relating to interoperability.

Promotion
There are times when standardization and interoperability are not enough. This could happen when commercial products are not standard-compliant, or when new techniques and technologies are first introduced. In such cases, RADVISION makes it its job to assist promoting interoperability through specialized documentation for customers, interoperability reports or worldwide interoperability testing initiatives.

This promotion has become an expected and sought-after form of market education. RADVISION contributes regularly to a blog that deals with interoperability issues as well:
