WEEE & RoHS Compliance
RADVISION complies with the EU Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) to reduce the amount of WEEE sent for disposal, and the EU Directive on the Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS), which prohibits the use of certain heavy metals and brominated flame retardants.
- The European Union directive, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE - 2002/96/EC), became effective throughout Europe on August 13, 2005. The main purpose of this directive is to isolate substances which are negative to health and the environment from the cycle of nature and promote the reuse, recycling and other forms of recovery of such wastes so as to reduce disposal.
- As of July 2006, RADVISION has fully complied with the RoHS directive requirements set by the European Union.
