RADVISION to Host Industry-Wide 3G Multimedia Interoperability Testing Event
IMTC 3G-324M Activity Group testing event brings leading telecommunications companies to RADVISION laboratories
FAIR LAWN, NJ, February 6, 2006 -- RADVISION (Nasdaq:RVSN), a leading provider of multimedia conferencing and communications platforms, today announced that it is hosting the International Multimedia Telecommunications Consortium’s (IMTC) 3G-324M Activity Group “Face-to-Face” testing event for 3G multimedia interoperability. Telecommunication companies with 3G-324M products are coming to RADVISION laboratories for an intensive week of compatibility testing between the products of the different vendors. The event is scheduled for February 6-10, at RADVISION’s development laboratories in Tel-Aviv, Israel.
The event is taking place under the sponsorship of the IMTC 3G-324M activity group that performs interoperability tests for real-time video telephony according to the H.324M and 3G-324M standards. The group also provides feedback for improvements to international standardization bodies such as the ITU-T and the 3GPP. In the past, companies including Sharp, Ericsson, Nokia, Qualcomm and RADVISION have attended this event. The testing focus at this event will be on improved call set-up performance. In 2005, changes to the 3G-324M standard known as WNSRP were initiated by a RADVISION-led Industry consortium and adopted by the standards bodies to improve call set-up performance.
RADVISION is a leading provider of 3G-324M based products including the SCOPIA™ 3G-324M to IP gateway, which mediates video traffic between cellular and IP networks. In addition, RADVISION provides 3G-324M testing tools and a developer’s protocol toolkit for embedding 3G-324M technology in mobile handset devices and server side equipment.
“RADVISION’s products are all based on open-standards technology, thereby speeding adoption by the industry and facilitating interoperability of equipment from different vendors. Our 3G-324M multimedia product line is no exception, and it is only natural that we host this interoperability testing event,” said Eli Doron, RADVISION’s Chief Technology Officer.
